Scott Hawn - Artist
It's been a long journey to get to the point where I currently am in my development as an artist. Long ago I began as a draftsman with the National Park Service, with the occasional opportunity to use my illustration skills. I moved on to college, getting a degree in Art Education with an emphasis in printmaking. After teaching migrant school and at a combination middle/high school, I went to work for the University of Northern Colorado, where I worked as a graphic designer for 12 years. I then taught graphic design at the college level for the next 6 years. I carried my design skills into the publishing field as a Production Manager, followed by a stint as a Marketing Manager for an apparel wholesaler.
Missing working with students, I returned to teaching. First, for 9 years with the middle school/high school level, followed by 4 years of middle school teaching in Boulder, CO.
Upon relocating to the Pacific Northwest, I have been fortunate to find myself in a supportive and thriving artist community where I have been able to focus on my sculptural work.
Throughout my career, I have actively remained an artist, and will continue on this course to the end.
